Working with a company like Outbound is a lot of fun. After all, it’s not every day that you get to grab the handlebars of a brand with such a rich and respected tradition and be part of their marketing success. We were really excited when Outbound came to us looking to help refresh their branding. They were so happy that things just kinda took off from there… We were stoked to be able to help Outbound develop and design several catalogues and launch a fresh e-commerce website design a few years back. We also like to think we were a huge part of helping them weave their brand story into their packaging design. Logo and Branding
Outbound originally approached us looking for help renovating their brand and logo. They wanted to tailor the brand to appeal to a younger and more progressive audience. The challenge with this logo design project was to avoid alienating existing brand loyalists while moving the company forward in their brand look and feel. The result was a rejuvenated logo featuring a modern logotype treatment and a creative, vibrant colour scheme. We capped it off with a great new tagline: Wake up to Perfect Camping!
Print Design
The Outbound catalogue design project was a major annual undertaking, requiring intensive coordination with the client, photographers, designers and printers to deliver an upscale, progressive and dynamic catalogue year in and year out. We fused dynamic lifestyle imagery with product imagery to create the perfect setting for each page within the catalogue design. We had to cheat a little here and there, integrating Outbound's products into generic lifestyle images, but the client didn't mind - it saved them thousands of dollars in photography fees. We are really product of our work with Outbound and hope you like it too.
Package Design
Working closely with and partnering with clients really pays off, as illustrated with this package design. This design was a byproduct of being able to truly invest in the Outbound brand and understand their customer and the importance adventure plays in their purchase decisions. We wanted to capture that amazing moment that every camper can relate to and tell this story through Outbound's packaging. It's about tapping into their customer's utopia worldview of camping: waking up cold and invigorated to nothing but the sound of birds and a crackling brook and a day spent away from the hassles of everyday life. The best package designs are the ones that do a great job of telling stories. We really dig this package and Outbound's customers did too.
